After a problematic pre-production process, Scream 7 has just gotten a major production update. The sequel has officially started filming, and the first set photo has been released.

On Instagram, director Kevin Williamson shared an image from the set of Scream 7, announcing that he’d just wrapped his first day of shooting. Williamson, who wrote the original Scream film directed by Wes Craven, praised the cast and crew after having what he describes as “one of the best days” of his life. He also paid tribute to Craven, noting how the late horror legend was there in spirit as Williamson was thinking about him all day long.
