“When someone forgets their place… I’ve got a man for that.” Paramount has revealed an official trailer for MobLand, a gangster series from London that will begin streaming at the end of March. Not to be confused with the John Travolta movie also titled Mob Land, this doesn’t have a space between the words. Created by MTV Ent. and 101 Studios. The series originally began as The Donovans, an origin story to the Showtime series Ray Donovan, following the Donovan family, but as it developed further, it was reworked into its own standalone story. Guy Ritchie directed a few episodes. The mob crime drama stars Tom Hardy as Harry, a fixer for the Harrigan family led by Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. The new UK streaming series showcases two generations of gangsters, their businesses, the relationships they weave and the man they call to fix their problems. As kingdom goes up against kingdom, lines will be crossed – and the only saving grace is a bet-your-life guarantee: family above everything. But of course. The full ensemble cast includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Alex Fine, Geoff Bell, Jasmine Jobson, and Daniel Betts. Alas this just seems derivative and repetitive. Have a look anyway…
